A shopping centre employee confronted the group and was allegedly threatened, “and had drinks thrown at him”, WA Police said.

The group entered Woolworths but soon walked back out, with the disturbance itself occurring outside in the shopping centre, 7NEWS.com.au understands.

The Woolworths store, which usually closes at 9pm on a Thursday, closed early as a precaution and reopened for business as usual on Friday morning.

One person posted in the local community Facebook page claiming the lockdown was “due to 14 teenagers with knives throwing items”.

But police said “no evidence was identified to substantiate the allegation a knife was produced”.

The group allegedly ran off, and police arrested three young teens nearby on Kirkimbie St.

“No weapons were located,” police said.

A 14-year-old boy was issued with a juvenile caution for common assault, and a second 14-year-old boy was issued with a juvenile caution for threats.

Investigations are ongoing, and anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers.
