Brazil will not be donning their famous yellow strip for their next Group C clash against Haiti due to an obscure FIFA rule

Why are Brazil not playing in yellow against Haiti?

1. Which kit are Haiti wearing? With Haiti playing in white, one would presume that Brazil should be able to wear their yellow kit as there is no direct clash in the colour scheme. However, FIFA rules stipulate why they can’t.
2. Why Brazil can’t wear yellow: Although Haiti aren’t the home team, their goalkeeper will wear a yellow kit. Because Brazil’s traditional home kit is also a bright yellow colour, they are blocked from wearing their primary shirts to prevent an on-pitch clash with the Haitian goalkeeper.
3. Brazil kit colour: With Haiti selecting yellow for their shot-stopper Johnny Placide, Brazil cannot wear their home kit as this will clash with the goalkeeper’s kit. As a result, Carlo Ancelotti’s men will wear their away strip, which is a navy blue colour.
4. Brazil goalkeeper kit colour: Brazil’s goalkeeper Alisson has a choice of pink or black kits. For this game, the Selecao goalkeeper will don the magenta kit for the shirt, shorts and socks. This highly vibrant alternative choice guarantees visual separation for the officials and for those watching at home via TV broadcasts.
5. Brazil vs Haiti kick off time: The highly anticipated match will kick off on Saturday, June 20, 2026 at 1.30am BST, with local kick-off times of Friday, June 19 at 8.30pm ET / 5.30pm PT.
