Passenger killed and several injured in horrific Melbourne crash

A man has died and four others have been injured after a vehicle veered into oncoming traffic and was T‑boned in Melbourne’s north on Saturday morning.

Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives were called to Mickleham Rd at Attwood about 7am after a south‑bound vehicle crossed onto the wrong side of the road and collided with two other cars.

A male passenger from the south‑bound vehicle was taken to hospital but later died.

The male driver and a second male passenger from the same vehicle were rushed to hospital with life‑threatening injuries.

The drivers of the two other vehicles, both single occupants, were taken to hospital with minor injuries.

Detectives remain at the scene and extensive delays are expected as they work to determine what caused the crash.
