Netflix chart-topper is leaving fans ‘emotionally wrecked’ within minutes

A heartbreaking new romance film released on Netflix this week has dominated the charts mere hours after its premiere

It’s the second most-watched Netflix film this weekend.

A new Netflix film is leaving viewers emotionally wrecked and has shot up the streaming charts mere hours after it was released.

Dropping on the platform this Friday (June 19), the new romantic comedy featuring an all-star cast and a poignant twist is currently number two on the streamer’s film chart.

Its only competition is the harrowing true crime documentary Maternal Instincts, making this new original release an absolute must-watch for anyone looking for lighter fare for Saturday or Sunday night viewing.

Be warned though, as Voicemails for Isabelle kicks off with an emotional gut-punch as protagonist Jill (played by Zoey Deutch) loses her beloved sister Isabelle (Ciara Bravo) in the opening minutes.

Struggling to cope with the loss of her best friend, she begins leaving her voice messages on Isabelle’s old number, which she doesn’t realise has been reassigned to Austin-based estate agent Wes (Nick Robinson).

Wes is slowly falling for the charming voice on the other end of the line and decides to meet up with Jill in San Francisco, but will his secret sabotage their growing feelings for one another?

Also featuring comedy legend Nick Offerman as Jill’s dominating patisserie boss Chef Bastien, Voicemails for Isabelle is packed with heart and humour.

However, the emotional core of the film and plenty of heartstopping twists and turns have been leaving viewers with tears in their eyes as they switched on in droves as soon as it dropped on Netflix.
