British tourists order tapas and sangria in Benidorm but price leaves them floored

A British couple were baffled after ordering tapas and a big jug of sangria for a meal during a holiday in Benidorm, Spain, and their total bill left them floored

A British couple visiting Benidorm were baffled as they ordered tapas and sangria at a local restaurant and, were left floored by the bill of their meal. British couple Jack, who is better known online as ‘Jackeatseverything’ and Jas were recently enjoying time away in Spanish holiday destination Benidorm, which they were documenting on Jack’s TikTok account.

As it wasn’t their first visit, they went on to share their favourite places to visit and restaurants to eat at. But the holiday also came with some nice surprises, as they were recommended a tapas restaurant.

“We are in Benidorm and we are heading to a place called Zodiac House,” Jack revealed at the start of the video as they were seen walking to the restaurant. “And apparently they do like a litre of sangria and loads of tapas for something mental like €10 (£8.65) between two of you, €5 (£4.32) each. Let’s go check it out.”

How the €10 Tapas and Sangria Menu Compares

While it might sound too good to be true, they quickly spotted the deal on the menu, as you can get six tapas for €9, or pay €10 to upgrade it so it also comes with a jug of sangria.

“Sangria has arrived and it’s nice to have an actual wine glass, cause somewhere the other night gave us a Amstel glass,” Jas said as he showed off the drink.

They then went on to pick their tapas from a long list of available dishes that could be read on the wall behind the till. The first one he opted for was a slice of bread along with some cheese and a chili jam, which he exclaimed was ‘stunning’ after taking a bite.

The rest of the tapas then arrived. They had opted for a slice of bread, a ham and cheese roll, a ham and cheese croquette, a piece of chorizo, a slice of bread with black pudding and patron pepper, as well a fried tapas with aubergine that the waitress had recommended.

TikTok review sparks debate over authentic Spanish food prices

Overall, the couple seemed impressed by their meal, as all the various dishes scored impressive scores of between seven and nine and a half out of ten.

At the end, Jack said: “I love this place. We bumped into a lady from Yate, forgotten her name, but she recommended this place. So big up to you. You’re a legend.”

“Definitely return here. The staff are lovely. Food is really good. And yeah, they do a good sangria and it’s so cheap,” Jack said at the end of the video, as their total bill ended up being €10.

And Jack wasn’t the only one impressed by the restaurant, as people soon took to the comment section to share their own thoughts. One person shared: “Been going there for years.”

“I always went there and loved the tapas,” a second person said, while someone else wrote: “Go there all the time when am in Benidorm, great place.”

But some were sceptical as if what the couple had eaten could be qualified as tapas, as one person said: “Bro this couldn’t be further from tapas.”

“Its mainly bread but for the price it will fill you up,” someone else said.
