Jersey Shore eatery is making a splash for its pork roll, egg & cheese sandwich — topped with funnel cake: I don’t need abs this year’

It’s going to be a salty and sweet summer.
A Jersey Shore eatery is making waves for their new spin on a breakfast classic — wrapping a funnel cake around the famous pork roll, egg and cheese sandwich.
Boardwalk Bandit in Bradley Beach is whipping up the $16 delicacy, which consists of three slices of pork roll, a fried egg, American cheese and two pieces of funnel cake, with a side of raspberry ketchup.
Its owners, Jamie Queli and Seth Dolled, are hoping it sparks a debate across the Garden State.
“We wanted to see how we can make a New Jersey chicken and waffles,” Queli told NJ.com.
“So we were like let’s make a pork roll, egg and cheese on a funnel cake bun — make it just so New Jersey that people argue about it.”
They were spot on, as the item is already causing the age-old Jersey controversy over whether the processed meat in the breakfast staple is called pork roll or Taylor ham.
Northerners refer to it as Taylor ham after the famous brand, and Southerners call it pork roll.
“I’m from north jersey, it will always and forever be Taylor Ham,” one wrote on NJ.com’s Instagram post about the sandwich.
“Doesn’t say ham on the package. Learn to read,” another retorted.
Others are intrigued by the mouth-watering — and calorie-filled — menu item, and can’t wait to sample it.
“I know what I’m doing next weekend,” one wrote.
“Absolutely disgusting. Give me 2,” another quipped, while another added, “I don’t need abs this year.”
“New Jersey is a paradise on earth,” someone else said.
