Nonverbal autistic boy, 7, who vanished from family party found dead in neighbor’s pool: police

A young nonverbal autistic boy has been found dead in an Upstate New York pool after going missing at a party on Sunday afternoon.
The body of Harbe Nagi, 7, was discovered in the pool in Menands, just north of Albany, on Tuesday at around 8 a.m., NEWS10 reported.
The child – whose uncle is Hamtramck, Michigan, Mayor Adam Alharbi – is believed to have wandered off during a party at a neighboring house on Sunday afternoon.
Cops were called at around 4:23 p.m. that day, 10 minutes after he disappeared from a family gathering.
“We want to express our condolences and appreciation for everybody that came out and helped in the search efforts. Obviously, we are extremely saddened by the results,” Menands Police Lieutenant Kevin Schwebke told reporters Tuesday.

No cause of death has yet been confirmed, as Menands’s Mayor Brian Marsh urged the public not to speculate.
“We are going to continue to pursue the details of the case. Please, if people can refrain from speculation on social media — as I said [Monday], it’s not helpful to speculate. Let this case be pursued by the experts,” Marsh said.
