Terrion Arnold’s $1 million bond comes with request for new release rule

Former Lions cornerback Terrion Arnold was released from Hillsborough County Jail on Tuesday afternoon after posting a $1 million bond, according to court records viewed by The Post.

Judge Christopher Sabella of Hillsborough County granted Arnold’s request for release from custody pending trial on multiple felony charges from an alleged armed robbery and kidnapping.

Arnold will be confined to his home in Tallahassee, Florida, with the exception of when he’s making court-related appearances or legal appointments.

He’s also not allowed contact with the six co-defendants or witnesses in the case and must surrender his passport within 48 hours.

Since Arnold was released by the Lions on Monday, the state’s attorney’s office has filed another motion seeking to have him wear the GPS monitor.

Arnold’s attorneys argued that he would not be able to wear the device while playing football, but the release changed his situation. The cornerback previously would have also been allowed to leave his home to play, train and travel with the Lions.

The 23-year-old had been in custody since he turned himself in last Wednesday.

Arnold was charged with orchestrating an abduction and robbery of three men whom he believed had stolen money and luxury items from him.

“Our office remains committed to seeking justice for the three victims in the case who were beaten, robbed, and held against their will,” Erin Maloney, a spokesperson for the state attorney’s office, told reporters.

The Lions announced they released Arnold on Monday, and said little publicly about the charges the cornerback was facing. The team said it was “aware” of the situation and it “will not comment at this time out of respect for the ongoing legal process.”

With Arnold officially being cut, it puts an end to speculation of whether he would’ve been allowed to attend Lions training camp in late July due to the NFL’s personal conduct policy.

Arnold, a 2024 first-round draft pick, spent two seasons with the Lions and started 22 games.

In 2025, he recorded 31 tackles and an interception before undergoing season-ending shoulder surgery.
