WWE’s jarring Obi Femi call was right one for SummerSlam

WWE wasted little time solving the Oba Femni problem it created — but it was all for the best.
The ruler, somewhat jarringly, forfeited the world championship opportunity he earned by defeating Jey Uso to become King of the Ring at Night of Champions to chase down the bigger SummerSlam prize of being the first person to beat Brock Lesnar inside Hell in a Cell and put a button in their trilogy.
There has been some criticism of this going around as to why the King of the Ring final was not Seth Rollins vs. Bron Breakker or why WWE didn’t just make the stipulation that the winner could just get a title shot whenever he pleased.
Listen, it’s certainly alarming when a wrestler just gives up a title opportunity, but Femi’s logic was sound, especially with Lesnar having already faked a retirement at WrestleMania.
