Does Lestat Die in ‘The Vampire Lestat’?

The Vampire Lestat continues to shock and awe!

As the latest season of AMC‘s Interview with the Vampire gets ready to wrap up — next week’s episode is the season finale — Lestat (Sam Reid) and Louis (Jacob Anderson) find themselves in a terrible situation that they might not be able to worm their way out of.

**Spoilers for The Vampire Lestat, now streaming on AMC+**

If you can believe it, The Vampire Lestat Episode 6 ends with Lestat and Reid being decapitated. That’s right. After Lestat and Louis have finally seemed to have made progress in their romantic relationship, the Vampire Armand (Assad Zaman) and Daniel Molloy (Eric Bogosian) cut their heads off. Does this mean they have killed off the main characters of the series?

However, in the cold open of The Vampire Lestat, we can see that Louis is present for Lestat’s funeral auction — which takes place at a later date. How can this be?

If Louis is alive, what is Lestat’s fate? As you probably know, the series is adapted from the Anne Rice series, which holds all the answers.

While Reid and Anderson couldn’t give us any hints on their so-called deaths heading into the end of the season, you can check out DECIDER’S interview with the stars where they break down all the drama from episode 6.

Lucky for you, we have all the answers heading into the anticipated finale.

Does Lestat die in The Vampire Lestat?

Well, we are not entirely sure.

From the looks of it, Lestat surely looks dead. Although it’s impossible to come back from the dead after being decapitated, you never know what’s going to happen in this universe! In fact, fans of show will know Lestat has previously faked his own death multiple times. Duh! You can never guess the next move of a vampire.

One possible theory is that Gabrielle could potentially save Lestat, a plot from the books. If this were to be the case, it would lead into the next season of the show adapting Rice’s Queen of the Damned.

How many episodes are in The Vampire Lestat?

This season of The Vampire Lestat has 7 episodes. The finale will air Sunday, July 19.

Will there be an Interview With the Vampire Season 4?

To be determined!

We can only hope, but it does seem the show will continue given its success and large fandom. If our prediction for Lestat comes true in the season finale, then it will most likely have a way to continue by having a whole season based on the story of Queen of the Damned.
