PHILADELPHIA — The MLB All-Star Game continues to rule over all other All-Star Games. Of course, the other All-Star Games rank somewhere between pathetic and an utter waste of time.

The NBA All-Star Game is a more boring version of their slam-dunk competition, with barely more defense.

The defunct NFL Pro Bowl, for those who didn’t notice, has transitioned to a flag football exhibition. And basically no one has noticed.

So MLB is working from a position of strength here. But MLB’s All-Star Game, to be played here Tuesday, still could be better. Here’s how:
