Netflix’s newest comedy series is almost here!

The Hawk is the comeback story people want to see. The series follows 2004’s top golfer, Lonnie Hawkins (Will Ferrell), as struggles to recapture the magic he once had. Despite being late in his career, he refuses to believe that he is not on the edge of the greatest comeback. Throughout his journey back to the top, Lonnie Hawkins will have to face not only his enemies from the past, but also his number one rival— his son.

In this 10-episode series, expect laugh out loud comedy, with comedic legends starring alongside Ferrell such as Molly Shannon and Fortune Feimster. But also expect some heartwarming moments. The Hawk is set to premiere on Netflix tomorrow, July 16, but before we enter the delusional world of Lonnie Hawkin, let’s get to know the jam packed cast in the series.

1. Will Ferrell as Lonnie “The Hawk” Hawkins

   Comedy icon Will Ferrell is set to lead this series as Lonnie Hawkins. Once a champion golfer, The Hawk now struggles to recapture the magic of his earlier career. He only needs one more major to complete golf’s grand slam, and nothing is going to stand in his way.

   Will Ferrell is no stranger to acting. He has starred in movies like Elf, Step Brothers, and Daddy’s Home, just to name a few. He also used to be a cast member of Saturday Night Live, and has hosted the series 6-times.

3. Jimmy Tatro will star as Lance Hawkins, Lonnie Hawkin’s son and up-and-coming golf star himself. Seen as Lonnie’s rival, their relationship plays a central role to the story.

   Jimmy Tatro is known for his YouTube series, Life According to Jimmy. As well as his role in ABC’s Home Economics and Hulu’s Theater Camp.

4. Molly Shannon is Stacy Hawkins, an ambitious socialite and entrepreneur. She is also Lonnie’s estranged wife, and she despises him.

   Molly Shannon is also an SNL alum, and she and Will Ferrell’s chemistry is off the chart. The two starred alongside each other in Superstar and Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby. Shannon has also appeared in White Lotus, The Other Two, and Only Murders in the Building.

5. Luke Wilson will play the primary antagonist, Golden Fisk. Golden is Lonnie’s long-time rival and fan-favorite pro golfer.

   Luke Wilson is also a veteran actor, known for his roles in Legally Blonde, Old School, Bottle Rocket, Rushmore, and so much more.

6. Fortune Feimster will play Lonnie’s inexperienced, but well-meaning caddy, Sam. Sam is loyal to Lonnie and definitely brings the comedy.

   Fortune Feimster is can be seen in movies like Zootopia 2, Sex Appeal, and TV shows like The Mindy Project. Feimster is also a stand-up comedian, with Netflix comedy-specials such as Fortune Feimster: Good Fortune and Fortune Feimster: Crushing It.

7. Katelyn Tarver as Natalie Wayne

   Katelyn Tarver will play Lance’s extremely supportive fiancée, Natalie Wayne. She is also an aspiring social media and wellness influencer.

   If you were a pre-teen or teenager in the early 2010s, you might recognize Katelyn Tarver from her role as Jo in Big Time Rush. She can also be seen in in Famous in Love, Ballers, and is also a singer-songwriter.

8. Chris Parnell will play Anton Floyd, a board member for the PGA who hates Lonnie Hawkins.

   Parnell is joining the list of SNL alums in this series and there was a time when he, Ferrell, and Shannon were all on the series together. Parnell is also a voice actor who has been in shows like Rick and Morty and Family Guy.
