There’s a slew of new movies to stream this weekend if you’re looking to beat the heat.

Curry Barker’s horror sensation Obsession is now available on Peacock; Project Hail Mary is streaming on Prime Video; and Heartstopper Forever just dropped on Netflix. But if you were planning on pressing play on Oliva Wilde’s new movie The Invite, well, unfortunately, you’re going to have to wait or head to your local movie theater.

Written by Will McCormack and Rashida Jones and starring Wilde, Seth Rogen, Penélope Cruz, and Edward Norton, the comedy centers on a couple with a shaky marriage who invite their enigmatic upstairs neighbors over for an unpredictable dinner party.

McCormack and Jones also wrote the charming 2012 indie Celeste and Jesse Forever, which is currently streaming on Roku’s ad-free streaming service, Howdy (a free trial is available via Prime Video).

Nope. The Invite isn’t currently available to stream online. It’s still playing in theaters, and you can find a showing near you on Fandango.

There’s no official VOD release date for The Invite, but based on recent streaming history, we expect the film to arrive on streaming in mid-to-late August or early September 2026.
