Justin Jefferson trade to Raiders, Klint Kubiak reunion voiced by insider

Vikings star Justin Jefferson might be ready to jump ship.
At least that’s what Raiders beat writer Hondo Carpenter believes.
“I think you wait and let that Justin Jefferson thing pan out a little bit. Nothing’s imminent. I’m not saying anything is imminent. I just know that there’s a potential that he may want to move on, and he had his best play with Klint Kubiak. I think and may have reason to believe that he would be amicable if he were to be moved to be reunited … with Klint Kubiak,” Carpenter said on his podcast.
Jefferson will certainly keep a close eye on the quarterback battle ensuing between J.J. McCarthy and Kyler Murray in Minnesota. The wide receiver is coming off the worst campaign of his career, posting 1,048 yards on 84 receptions with two touchdowns.

While Jefferson hasn’t expressed a desire to be traded, there’s reason to believe frustration could build up over Minnesota’s failure to build a contending roster.
The Vikings’ last playoff appearance was during the 2024 season, when the team fell short in the wild-card round. As one of the NFL’s best wide receivers, Jefferson hasn’t been showcased as well as he should’ve in recent years.
If Jefferson ever sought a change, reuniting with former Vikings offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak would make sense. Jefferson would get to team up with No. 1 overall pick Fernando Mendoza in Las Vegas.
As things stand, Jefferson remains the face of the franchise in Minnesota. But as Carpenter pointed out, NFL fans should keep an eye on how the season unfolds for the Vikings.
