Skateboarder, Mercedes driver battled over prime NYC parking spot in wild video: police

A caught on camera New York City street brawl between a skateboarder and a Mercedes driver erupted after the two tangled over a prime parking spot in the East Village, police sources told The Post.
The shredder and a friend were standing on St. Marks Place near Second Avenue in the East Village around 3:50 p.m. Tuesday holding the hard-to-get spot for someone when a motorist tried to pull into the spot, the sources said.
The skateboarder took his board and slammed it against the pricey SUV’s side window — and then threw it at the vehicle, the viral video posted on X shows.
The unidentified 34-year-old motorist jumped out of the vehicle and ran after the skateboarder before getting his hands on the board and tired to bash him with it in front of Mamoun’s Falafel, the footage captured.
But the quick-thinking skater recovered it and then used it to smash the driver over the head, and then wrestled him before putting him into a standing chokehold, according to the video.
An NYPD spokesman confirmed that the driver was attempting to park in the spot. The video also shows that the SUV’s front windshield was smashed during the fracas.
The skateboarder zoomed off and the driver was taken to Bellevue Hospital in stable condition, cops said.
There were no arrests as of Saturday afternoon as cops were still hunting for the skateboarder.
