Brad Paisley vehemently defends Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s MSG wedding

Brad Paisley hailed Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s Madison Square Garden wedding as the “least pretentious” wedding he’s been to.

“Ironically, it was one of the least pretentious weddings I’ve ever seen or ever will see,” the country music star told the Associated Press on Saturday.

“I took this personally when I got the invite, because in the invite it said, ‘If you’re getting this, you mean a lot to us.’”

The Grammy winner revealed that after receiving the invite, it was a “cat and mouse game” to find out the exact location of the celebration.

“We can tell you roughly where it’s going to be. We’re not going to say which building. Here’s the date and if you’re in, we’ll tell you more,” Paisley recalled of what the invite said.

“It meant a lot to be [invited]. It was kind of a big thank you from her to invite us,” he concluded.

The songwriter’s defense comes after fans and some other celebs publicly bashed the extravagant wedding celebration — including Charles Barkley, who called the event a “crap show.”

Paisley and Swift have a longstanding mentor-mentee relationship that dates back to the beginning of the pop star’s career.

He invited a 17-year-old Swift to be the opening act for his “Bonfires & Amplifiers” tour in 2007, which helped jump-start her stardom as a young country artist.

Swift and Kelce, both 36, tied the knot on July 3 at the iconic New York City venue in front of over 1,000 guests.

Page Six exclusively reported that the couple spent about $20-$25 million on the star-studded nuptials.

The wedding was officiated by comedian Adam Sandler and featured a garden theme.
