Lakers adding summer league standout Arthur Kaluma on two-way deal

After being one of the best performers during summer league, Arthur Kaluma is being rewarded with a roster spot on the Lakers.

The Lakers have agreed to terms with Kaluma on a two-way contract, a source confirmed to the California Post on Monday after ESPN first reported the addition.

The franchise will have to open up a two-way slot to make room for the signing of Kaluma.

Chris Manon, Peter Suder and AK Okereke were occupying the Lakers’ two-way spots before Monday.

Manon, who spent the 2025-26 season with the Lakers on a two-way contract after going undrafted from Vanderbilt in 2025, re-signed with the franchise on another two-way deal on July 3.

Suder or Okereke, both of whom signed two-way days with the Lakers after going undrafted last month, are more likely to be waived to make room for Kaluma.

Kaluma averaged 17.3 points and 3.7 rebounds in the six summer league games he played, shooting 55.1% from the field and 38.9% on 3-pointers.

At 6-foot-7 and 225 pounds with a 7-foot ½ wingspan, Kaluma has the size and tools to be an impactful professional player.

And then he showed it over the previous couple of weeks, helping lead the Lakers to the Las Vegas Summer League semifinals.

Kaluma played for Creighton (2021-23), Kansas State (2023-24) and Texas (2024-25) before going undrafted in 2025.

He played for the Lakers’ G League affiliate, the South Bay/Coachella Valley Lakers, in 2025-26.

Kaluma averaged 14.6 points (54.8% shooting, 36.7% on 3s) and 4.9 rebounds in the G League before his summer league breakout.
