It’s quiet. It’s very quiet. Sometimes, that level of quiet can be disconcerting. Sometimes it makes you wonder if something is off, if something is amiss, if something’s wrong. 

This quiet is OK, though. 

The Jets have had enough noise the past few years. There was the Aaron Rodgers carnival, which was a cacophonous funhouse all its own. There have been high-profile flame-out kid quarterbacks. There have been coaching changes. There have been high draft picks who weren’t quite what they were supposed to be. 

There have been losses, lots and lots of losses, so many losses, so much failure, so much ineptitude, all of it soundtracked with a chorus of anger and venom and fury.
