A transgender employee has sued NBCUniversal and Universal Studios in a bombshell lawsuit alleging shocking claims of unwanted sexual advances and subsequent retaliation.

The lawsuit filed last Wednesday in Los Angeles Superior Court alleges a litany of wrongs perpetrated by the entertainment companies, from discrimination to whistleblower retaliation to wrongful termination. It seeks unspecified compensatory and punitive damages.

In the complaint, Nikki Campus says she was hired in 2010 to help prepare and clean sound stages, move equipment and coordinate with production crews.

In 2019, Campus said she began “transitioning” to a woman, and as a result, suffered from derogatory remarks from coworkers. One allegedly said Campus’ decision was an “abomination” and urged a conversation with a pastor.

“You know, Jesus is your only lord and savior,” one colleague allegedly told Campus.

The real trouble began in 2022 when a new supervisor named in the complaint as Charles Woods took over and became Campus’ direct overseer, the complaint said.

In 2023, the new boss allegedly made inappropriate comments about Campus’ body, particularly her posterior.

Woods would allegedly ask things such as, “Is your ass real or did you have surgery to get that ass?”

Campus claims she “took the high road” by not addressing those remarks, which later evolved into questions, for example, over whether she still had male body parts.

Woods also allegedly asked a coworker about Campus, making crude comments about what he would do to her butt.

The most brazen attempt was said to have happened in April 2025 while the two were together in a golf cart, according to the complaint. Woods allegedly caressed Campus’ thigh and commented how soft it was.

The supervisor, who was married, then allegedly asked to have sex, saying he was “not opposed” to cheating on his wife.

Campus said she tried to laugh it off, but Woods allegedly insisted, “No, I’m serious.” Campus claimed she was overwhelmed and walked away without giving an answer.

Then, the retaliation began, the lawsuit claimed.

The supervisor began criticizing Campus’ work, assigning her “menial” tasks, claiming Campus was working too slowly.

Campus claimed the supervisor questioned her gender identity and which restroom she used. The supervisor was later furious after Campus reported the conduct, the lawsuit claimed.

But the HR investigation allegedly did not produce any results — at least none shared with Campus, and there was even a second investigation launched after Woods’ blowup over the first investigation.

Campus was allegedly denied a promotion to department head in November 2025 and saw her work hours cut from full-time to part-time a month later.

As a result, Campus claimed suffering from financial loss and severe emotional distress.
