There’s a distinct theme to this Jets season, which begins with their first training camp practice on the grass Thursday morning.

If the Jets are to climb from the abyss in which they’ve resided for the past 15 playoff-less seasons, they will have proven that you can go home again.

Their season very much hinges on two players — one on offense and the other on defense — who have returned to the team that believed in them enough to draft them out of college.

The question will be whether quarterback Geno Smith, in his second stint with the Jets, and linebacker Demario Davis, in his third, are still good enough to instill the belief of starved and deprived Jets fans.
