Hollywood’s love affair with disgraced Dr. Anthony Fauci was bad enough at the time. In the wake of his shameful Fifth Amendment performance in the Senate this week, it looks even worse.

Celebrities cheered the diminutive doc during the lockdowns, assuring us he was the expert we needed in troubled times.

Some expert.

Many Americans saw the doublespeak of the former director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) for what it was, in real time.

Don’t wear a mask. Wear a mask. Take the vaccine at all costs (what’s a side effect?). Stay home (but feel free to protest systemic racism).

Now, between Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul’s release of the “Fauci diaries,” and the doctor’s humiliating Capitol Hill non-testimony, everyone else should know the truth.

Long before he took the Fifth, Dr. Fauci had a lot to say — on any network, anytime.

He single-handedly helped shatter our trust in medical science. His lockdown mania also crushed businesses, crashed student test scores and left millions isolated from their dying loved ones.

He dined with journos while we were told to eat TV dinners alone.

The media deserves plenty of blame for not asking tougher questions about Fauci’s flip-floppery.

So does Celebrity, Inc.

“Saturday Night Live” hired the most handsome actor in La La Land to portray him on the sketch comedy show. Brad Pitt’s Dr. Fauci impression torched President Donald Trump but couldn’t lay a glove on the not-so-good doctor.

The worst part? Pitt broke character, took off his silver wig and addressed Fauci directly.

“Thank you for your calm and your clarity in this unnerving time.”

Stephen Colbert invited Dr. Fauci on “The Late Show” in 2022 to get his vaccine booster on-air, while imploring everyone else to do the same rather than assessing their own health vulnerabilities first.

In 2021, Jimmy Kimmel dropped the yuks from his ABC perch to slam Republicans for questioning Fauci’s rhetoric.

“He is a brilliant public servant who these monsters now threaten and accuse and slander and put in real danger with these disgusting lies,” the late-night host said.

“The Tonight Show’s” Jimmy Fallon also fawned over Fauci in 2021, thanking him for steering the nation through the pandemic. “Gosh, you were there every step of the way,” Fallon said.

Yes, spreading fear far and wide.

Oscar-winner Julia Roberts gushed over him during a May 2020 Instagram Q&A.

“You truly have emerged as a personal hero for me. Just to have a little corner of your time for us is such a joy,” the star said.

Jennifer Garner held her own Instagram lovefest with him.

“I love Dr. Fauci — and you will, too,” Garner said.

The 2021 National Geographic documentary “Fauci” boasts a 3% “rotten” rating from general audiences at RottenTomatoes.com. Critics loved it, though (86% “fresh”).

It took rebel comedians like Tyler Fischer to break the taboo, and begin to mock Fauci. His Dr. Fauci video, in which he calls for endless boosters, went viral for a reason.

What’s especially damning is what late-night hosts didn’t say about Dr. Fauci. They, too, saw his hypocrisy in real time and couldn’t find the funny in it. They ignored signs of his gargantuan ego, something his recent diaries proved beyond a shadow of a doubt.

That “Tonight Show” interview from Fauci’s home has endless photographs of himself in the background.

When a doctor declares he represents something as big and powerful as “science,” that’s like a starter’s pistol firing for satirists. They didn’t hear the loud bang this time, apparently.

Will we get a collective mea culpa from Hollywood, Inc.? If past is prologue, not a chance. The industry didn’t apologize for pushing the Russian collusion narrative, spreading the “very fine people” hoax, or supporting the defund the police movement.

They’re hoping we forget all about their Dr. Fauci fangirling. We shouldn’t.
