Taking a hit from a truck is the same as taking a hit from an NFL defender — at least that’s what Bengals tight end Erick All Jr. thinks.

All, who is in the process of returning from two ACL surgeries, told reporters he knew he was ready to play again after taking a hit from a truck on vacation earlier this summer.

“That was huge for my confidence, you don’t understand, that did a lot of good things for the mental,” All told reporters on Thursday, according to The Athletic.

“It could have been very bad. That’s what I do. I’m here for the physicality. After not playing for a while, when I got smacked by that thing, and I got up, that is as big of a hit — that’s the first time I ever got pancaked. Ever. I’m like, damn, if I can take that, I’m good. I’m usually the hammer.”

The tight end said he was walking down the street near his hotel in Greece when the three-wheeled truck swerved and sent him to the ground.

All has yet to play in a full season since the Bengals took him in the fourth round of the 2024 NFL Draft.

He played in nine games his rookie year, recording 158 yards on 20 receptions, but ruptured his ACL in November and missed the rest of the season.

All then missed 2025, with a prior ACL tear he suffered while playing at Iowa complicating the reconstructive procedure.

Two years and a truck accident later, Bengals director of player personnel Duke Tobin says All is cleared for “full activity” heading into 2026.

As of now, All slots in as the Bengals’ tight end No. 3 behind Mike Gesicki and Drew Sample.

“Obviously, he had a lot going on with his knee, but you wouldn’t know it by looking at him,” Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow told reporters. “He looks fit, fast, explosive.

“He’ll play a big role for us this year.”
