Cops ‘on the hunt’ in Mexico for NYC slasher who killed bartender: police sources

The suspect in a fatal Brooklyn slashing last month is believed to be hiding out in Mexico, The Post has learned.

The NYPD and federal authorities have recently crossed over the Southern Border in their search for Misal Cruz, who is wanted for the June 20 murder of Maria Santos Flores, 36. Mexican authorities have also joined in the manhunt.

“They are on  the hunt, collaborating with federal and Mexican officials,” a NYPD source said of the city detectives in Mexico.

Santos Flores was found with her throat slashed inside her home on 85th Street near 4th Avenue in Bay Ridge, according to cops.

Santos Flores’ 17-year-old son and her sister, Angelica Flores, made the gruesome discovery.

The NYPD put out a wanted poster for the suspect in the murder.

“I came to visit her and found her like this,” the heartbroken sister told The Post, as she stood outside with other family members as the group of relatives wept and hugged. “She had just come home from work.”

Santos Flores was a bartender and worked nights at Huatulco Sports Bar in Sunset Park, the family said.

Her husband, Antonio Hernandez, said police believed someone had followed her home from work the night she was killed.

The couple’s two children, the son and a 3-year-old, were home at the time of the crime, he said.
