The Issue: Sen. Rand Paul’s efforts to prosecute Dr. Anthony Fauci for invoking the Fifth Amendment.

In this country, a criminal can spend the rest of his life in prison for illegally taking one life even in the heat of the moment. Yet Dr. Anthony Fauci, supporter of research on a killer virus, walks free although he had a hand in contributing to the death of millions (“Sen. Paul committed to contempt charge,” July 31).

He also conducted a Machiavellian campaign of distorting and hiding the truth while deceiving the American people for years. Is this a great nation or what?

Is this really a “witch hunt” when we’ve found the witch? The COVID virus killed and wrecked millions of lives.

Fauci could have given us real answers during his hearing to help public health since he is protected by the pardon.

But with so many problems going on in the world, why revisit the pandemic? What can possibly happen? Fauci’s retired, his pension is secure and he has a pardon.

We should stop with the grandstanding and move on to serious issues, like voter fraud, antisemitism, Iran and the economy. This is Sen. Rand Paul’s personal vendetta. Let the rest of us forget about it and move on because there is no good that can come out of this.

It is hypocritical for the Republicans and other MAGA supporters to rail against Fauci for his Senate hearing. Paul now wants to compel Fauci to provide answers regarding the pandemic after he plead the Fifth Amendment over 100 times.

President Trump once pleaded the Fifth Amendment in excess of 400 times. Where are their demands for accountability from them in regards to Trump’s testimony?

As a physician, I am disappointed and troubled by Fauci. Where is his moral compass?

It was shameful to see Fauci’s smug arrogance on display before Congress. Former President Joe Biden’s grant of blanket immunity from prosecution suggests that Fauci is guilty of something, not to mention his repeated use of the Fifth Amendment.

The only reason why Fauci is being grilled about COVID is because this is just another part of Trump’s revenge tour.
