‘Ted Lasso’ EP Jamie Lee Says Taylor Swift Has An Open Invite If She Wants To Ever Swing By the Set: “We Would Love It”

Ted Lasso and Taylor Swift both know a thing or two about Kansas City and London — smells like potential… for a crossover, that is.
**Spoiler alert for Ted Lasso Season 4, Episode 1, now streaming on Apple TV**
Three years after the third season of Apple TV’s Emmy-winning comedy ended and left fans feeling like Ted’s (Jason Sudeikis) journey had come to an end, the gang is back and taking on a new challenge for AFC Richmond: getting a women’s football team off the ground. That doesn’t happen, however, without a little coercing from Rebecca (Hannah Waddingham), Keeley (Juno Temple), and Higgins (Jeremy Swift), who fly to the States at the beginning of the new season to convince Ted to return to England and help them out again.
Before they can get Ted on board, however, the U.K. trio has a grand old time in Missouri — and Kansas, occasionally — including a stop into a store that took off after Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour. It’s no surprise that the series would shout out T. Swift, especially because it was her KC stop that first connected her with now-hubby Travis Kelce, a tight end for the Kansas City Chiefs. Naturally, fans want to know if the mention of the singer is a sign that she could make an appearance or swing by the set anytime soon, and to that, executive producer Jamie Lee says the invitation could not be more open.
“Oh my god, we would love it,” Lee told DECIDER at the Season 4 premiere in Los Angeles. “Taylor, please, if you’re watching, come hang out in our writer’s room. We’ll give you free almonds if that entices you.“
Lee did not share whether or not the team behind the series has reached out to Taylor or Travis about making an appearance in the show, but given the close connection between the show’s lead actor and the couple who recently tied the knot, it wouldn’t be surprising if we see a quick cameo or get another reference to the “London Boy” singer and “The guy on the Chiefs.”

Just last month, Sudeikis was spotted at Taylor and Travis’ wedding in New York City, as he’s long participated in charities and fundraisers involving his hometown teams. Around the time that the newlyweds started dating, some fans even believed Sudeikis may have been the matchmaker who connected the two given his close ties to the KC sports scene and the world of film and television.
So, perhaps the writers of Ted Lasso Season 4 are priming the fans to see an appearance from Taylor or Travis in upcoming episodes? We doubt it, but it’s nice to dream. We’ll just have to wait and see.
