It’s been two days, and Sterling Point has already stolen the hearts of fans and critics alike.

After dropping on Prime Video on Wednesday (Aug. 5), the series has already been deemed “Certified Fresh” on Rotten Tomatoes. Featuring a cast led by Ella Rubin and Amélie Hoeferle, the series explores themes of sisterhood through the two girls’ characters, Annie and Ramona, who never knew the other existed until their grandfather, Gordon, passes away, leaving them and Annie’s twin brother Connor (Keen Ruffalo) the island of Sterling Point.

Will There Be A Season 2 of Sterling Point?

Prime Video has yet to officially confirm whether Sterling Point will get a second season. However, Park acknowledged the threads that could tie into a potential future season, like Connor “seeking out his biological parents without necessarily the go-ahead from his biological twin sister” Annie, as well as Annie opting to remain in Sterling Point while Ramona moves to New York after learning that Steven, Annie and Connor’s adoptive father, is her biological father.

Park teased that such storylines were “the planting [of] the seeds for what could be, [she] think[s], a very interesting and dynamic second season if [they] were given one.”

“I mean there’s so much to explore, and again, the first season of a show, what I learned is you’re really setting up the world and the characters so much,” she said. “And then what’s great about it is in a Season 2, you get to kind of just be in the world. You know where you are, you know who these people are already, and so you get to go even deeper. And of course, if they’ve now experienced each other’s worlds for a longer period of time, they would have changed a lot and there’s a lot of fun there.”

Citing one such storyline——as “a big, bold move which could create a lot of drama,” she added that “of course [they] had ideas about where this could go if [they] went another season.”
