E Street Band drummer Max Weinberg and his wife, Rebbecca Weinberg, just sold one of the largest remaining Intracoastal land assemblages in Ocean Ridge, a small Palm Beach County enclave that has quietly become one of the region’s most competitive waterfront markets, The Post has learned.

The adjoining parcels at 7 and 9 Sabal Island Drive traded for $13 million, property records show.

Together, the two lots span more than 33,000 square feet and stretch roughly 325 feet along the Intracoastal, enough room for a buyer to build a sprawling custom estate or a full family compound from scratch.

The site comes with deep-water dockage, a freshly rebuilt seawall, and quick boat access to the ocean through the Boynton Inlet.

A source told The Post the home never hit the open market at all. A buyer simply stumbled onto the listing and snapped it up within days.

The buyer has not yet been identified.

Nick Malinosky and Michael O’Connor of The Exclusive Group at Douglas Elliman brokered the deal, representing both sides of the transaction. They declined to comment on the transaction.

For Weinberg, real estate has long been a second act. The 75-year-old New Jersey native has bought, built or flipped dozens of houses over the years, and he’s not just an investor on the sidelines. He sits on the Planning and Zoning Board in nearby Delray Beach, where he keeps a home and a drum kit in the garage.

“What you try to do as a drummer is keep the conversation going,” Weinberg has previously said of his approach to local governance in an interview with the Coastal Star. “So as a Planning and Zoning Board member I’m trying to keep the municipal planning conversation going.”

Weinberg has anchored Springsteen’s E Street Band since 1974, when he beat out a stack of rivals for the gig after answering an ad in the Village Voice. He later built a second career as Conan O’Brien’s bandleader on both “Late Night” and “The Tonight Show,” a run that lasted from 1993 to 2010.

The numbers explain the appetite. Waterfront land across Palm Beach County now lists at an average of roughly $2.4 million per acre, according to LandSearch data, with the average waterfront listing topping $10.8 million.

Building on the water adds its own premium too: waterfront construction typically runs 15 to 30 percent higher than a comparable inland build once pilings, flood compliance and seawall work are factored in, per SouthShore Builders, a local construction firm.

That math hasn’t slowed buyers down. In Palm Beach’s most extreme case, a private island called 10 Tarpon Isle sold for $152 million in 2024, a deal real estate analysts pointed to as proof that in this market, the land itself, not the house sitting on it, can account for the bulk of the price tag.

Ocean Ridge has ridden that same current. Assemblages combining more than 300 feet of contiguous Intracoastal frontage rarely surface on the market, and when they do, buyers looking to build a custom estate from scratch tend to move fast.

Nearby enclaves have drawn a growing roster of billionaires and boldface names willing to pay top dollar for scarce oceanfront and Intracoastal parcels, including Oracle co-founder Larry Ellison, WeatherTech founder David MacNeil, Fox News host Sean Hannity, motivational speaker Tony Robbins and pharma billionaire Randal J. Kirk, while Billy Joel offloaded his own waterfront estate in the area for $43 million in 2024.
