The Powerball jackpot edged closer to $1 billion, the largest prize of the year, after no one won Monday night’s lottery drawing.

Wednesday’s jackpot is estimated at $975 million, with a cash value of $422.3 million — making it the largest Powerball jackpot this year, and the biggest since last December’s colossal $1.817 billion prize.

The prize is also the eighth-largest in Powerball history.

Monday’s numbers were: 6-54-55-64. The red Powerball was 10, and the Power Play was 3X.

Although no players had all the winning numbers for Monday’s drawing, there was one Match 5 plus Power Play $2 million prize winner in Tennessee and $1 million Match 5 winners in California and Maryland.

Powerball drawings take place at 11 p.m. ET every Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday.

The odds of winning the jackpot are 1 in 292.2 million, and a ticket costs just $2, with an additional $1 to add the Power Play for a chance to multiply all Powerball winnings except for the jackpot.

In some states, players can also add the Double Play for an additional $1 to have a second chance at winning $10 million.

Powerball is played in 45 states, as well as in Washington, DC, and the Virgin Islands.
