Ravens star cornerback Nate Wiggins was carted off the field Tuesday after suffering an apparent left leg injury during practice, according to ESPN’s Jamison Hensley.

Wiggins, Baltimore’s top cornerback and a 2024 first-round pick, was injured about an hour into practice during one-on-one drills with wide receiver Ja’Kobi Lane, per Hensley.

The two got their feet tangled while Wiggins was covering Lane on a go route, sending Wiggins to the ground.

Trainers looked at Wiggins’ left leg and knee, he added. Wiggins was unable to put weight on the leg and needed help from trainers to get inside the team facility.

The injury comes after Wiggins emerged as one of Baltimore’s most important defensive players in 2025, starting all 17 games while recording 76 tackles, three interceptions and 14 passes defended. 

The 22-year-old was selected by the Ravens with the No. 30 overall pick in 2024 out of Clemson.

Ravens coach Jesse Minter said Wiggins was undergoing further testing after the practice. 

“I don’t have a ‌ton ⁠of information yet,” Minter said, according to Reuters. “.. I think there’s optimism.”

Wiggins had recently returned to full health after undergoing groin surgery over the offseason.

Losing Wiggins would be a major blow for a Baltimore defense that struggled against the pass a year ago. 

The Ravens allowed 4,214 yards through the air last season, which was the third-most in the NFL. 

If Wiggins misses time, Chidobe Awuzie would likely step into the starting lineup alongside fellow corner Marlon Humphrey.

“Nate Wiggins is a high-caliber, first-round-pick corner,” Minter said, per ESPN. “You’re not just going to be like, ‘Oh, everything’s the same,’ because it’s built around the talents of the players. I just know that we’ll be able to do things however it shakes out. I feel good about the secondary.”
