Tanya Reynolds as Coach Alice Chilton

Leading AFC Richmond’s women’s team is Coach Alice Chilton, played by Tanya Reynolds. As Decider noted in our Season 4 review, Alice is a profoundly passionate, qualified assistant coach who’s understandably skeptical of the chipper mustachioed man hired to do her dream job. She’s a socially awkward, strong-willed woman who struggles to keep her guard up as Ted tries to win her over with cheesy jokes and earnest charm. Her straight-faced, no-nonsense approach to the game serves as a unique source of humor, helping anchor the team amidst Ted and Beard’s silly shenanigans. And we get hints that greater depth and personal traumas lie beneath the surface.

The 34-year-old English actor and Oxford School of Drama alum has more than 30 film and TV credits on IMDb, including Emma, The Other Bennet Sister, The Decameron, Breeders, For Love or Money, Outlander, Sex Education, and more. She’s also known for her stage work and has starred in numerous productions including 1536, The Seagull, White Rabbit, Red Rabbit, and A Mirror.

Abbie Hern as Gemma

Abbie Hern plays Gemma, a talented striker and former teammate of Alice who gave up her professional football career to pursue a law degree.

Hern is a 29-year-old Welsh actor who made her acting debut in Jordan Peele’s The Twilight Zone in 2020. In the six years since, the Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama alum has starred in a number of projects, including The Pact, Peaky Blinders, Enola Holmes 2, and My Lady Jane.

Faye Marsay as Lizzie

Faye Marsay plays Lizzie, the team’s center back and a single mom who’s balancing her family and her dream like Ted. “Lizzie’s someone who loves football so much she’s willing to fight for a place in it, even when life’s pulling her in a hundred different directions,” Marsay said in Season 4’s production notes. “She’s a mother, she’s a leader, and she doesn’t always get it right, but she shows up and gives everything she’s got.”

If Marsay looks familiar, you may recognize her from her nearly 30 film and TV credits, including The White Queen, Doctor Who, Fresh Meat, Love, Nina, Black Mirror, Bancroft, McMafia, Deep Water, Avocado Toast, Lady Chatterley’s Lover, Ten Pound Poms, and more. The Ted Lasso star is likely best known for her roles as DS Misha Frank in the award-winning series Adolescence, Vel Sartha in Andor, and The Waif in Game of Thrones. Marsay also has a history of stage work and has starred in productions like Europe and Road. And like a number of Ted Lasso Season 4 stars, Marsay was a soccer fan who played for years growing up.

Jude Mack as Boots

The Lady Greyhounds’ fearless, glove-less goalkeeper, Katie Quinn (aka Boots), is played by Jude Mack. Boots has a big ego and the stats to back it up, but is she bluffing a bit? Only time will tell!

Mack is a British actor, writer, director, and London Academy of Music & Dramatic Art alum who’s starred in a variety of TV series and films, including Prime Target, The Capture, Waiting for the Out, Such Brave Girls, Back in Action, Playing Nice, I Hate Suzie, Anansi Boys, The Man Who Fell to Earth, and more. Per Mack’s IMDb bio, they also co-created and starred in the comedy pilot Amicable, produced by Avalon for BBC Three. And Mack has starred in stage productions as well.

Aisling Sharkey as Niamh and Rex Hayes as Siobhan

Aisling Sharkey and Rex Hayes star as Niamh and Siobhan, twin defenders who butt heads on and off the field.

In addition to Ted Lasso, you may recognize Sharkey — an Irish actor who also has theater credits — from roles in Heirs of the Night and Jurassic World: Dominion. And if Hayes looks familiar, you may recognize the Welsh actor from work acrosss stage and screen as well, with roles in Bang, The Pact, The Bastard Executioner.

Mercedes Assad as Margy

Another member of the Lady Greyhounds team is Margy, played by Mercedes Assad, a football fan whose played since she was six years old. The British-Egyptian actor can also be seen in The Wrong Side of Town and FBI: International, plus, Assad has numerous stage credits. Per her official Ted Lasso bio, Assad also plays with the West London grassroots team Shepherd’s Booters.

Annelise Heywood as Mady

Another member of the AFC Richmond women’s team is Mady, played by Annelise Heywood, who’s making her professional debut in Ted Lasso. Woo! Per her official show bio, the British actor is a recent graduate of Arts Educational Schools London (ArtsEd), where she was awarded the Lilian Baylis Award.

Shannon Hayes as Shannon

Rounding out the Lady Greyhounds is a delightful familiar face: Shannon! The new recruit is played by Shannon Hayes, who appeared in four episodes of Ted Lasso throughout its first three seasons as a local girl playing football outside near Ted’s apartment. The two became fast friends, and clearly Ted BELIEVES in her enough to give her a shot at the pros.

In addition to Ted Lasso, the Oxford University and Bristol Old Vic Theatre School alum has appeared in a number of TV series and films, including Vigil, Years and Years, I Hate Suzie, Undercover, Cold Feet, Kiss Me First, and more. She also has numerous stage credits in productions including The Mountaintop, The Lonely Londoners, Bitter Lemons, Raya, and more.

Lauren Hendricks as Caroline Seaward

Lauren Hendricks plays Caroline Seaward, described by Season 4 production notes as “an overfamiliar physiotherapist with a complete disregard for boundaries.”

Per her IMDb bio, “Hendricks is a London-based actor originally from Dorset in the West Country… Lauren is most familiar as the face of the Ginsters commercials in their national campaigns, and for her satirical songs and sketches as part of musical comedy duo Carey-Hills and Hendricks.”

Grant Feely as Henry Lasso

Since Ted Lasso Season 4 checks in with Ted back home in Kansas City three years after he left Richmond, it’s no surprise that we see him and his son Henry hanging out. Though Henry was played by Gus Turner in the show’s first three seasons, in Season 4, Henry is played by Grant Feely.

The 14-year-old actor has nearly 15 IMDb credits, including popular television shows and films like Creepshow, Echoes, Panhandle, Space Blood, Chicago P.D., and more. Before his role in Ted Lasso, Feely was well-known for roles as young Luke Skywalker in Obi-Wan Kenobi, Ghost Kid in the Five Nights at Freddy’s films, and Luke in Gunner. Per IMDb, he’ll also be starring in upcoming projects like Devoted and The Movers.

Tracey Ullman as Zelda

Last but certainly not least, the legendary Tracey Ullman joins Ted Lasso Season 4 as Zelda, described in production notes as “a wildly unpredictable entrepreneur whose involvement with the club brings both opportunity and chaos.”

The 66-year-old British and American multi-hyphenate is an actress, a comedian, she sings, she dances, she’s a screenwriter, producer, director, and author. Is there anything Ullman can’t do?!
