We’ve reached the postseason on the PGA Tour.

This week’s FedEx St. Jude Championship at TPC Southwind in Memphis, Tenn., kicks off a three-tournament playoff, with the finale coming at the Tour Championship in East Lake at the end of the month.

Seventy players are in the field this week, but only the top 50 in the FedEx Cup Standings will qualify for the BMW Championship, the middle leg of this end-of-season sprint. The top 30 after that will make it to East Lake. Kapeesh?

Because of its field size and the course it’s played on, the St. Jude is normally the most unpredictable tournament in the PGA Tour postseason. Justin Rose made us quite happy when he won this puppy as a 100/1 long shot in 2025, but he’s not the only roughie to lift the trophy. Abraham Ancer was a 50/1 outsider when he took it down in 2021, and column-mainstay Lucas Glover was 90/1 in 2023.

In between those dark horses were household names: Brooks Koepka (2019), Justin Thomas (2020), and Hideki Matsuyama (2024). Will Zalatoris was considered a rising power when he won the St. Jude at 30/1 in 2022.

Scottie Scheffler, still stuck on just one win (and 11 top-5 finishes) in 17 starts in 2026, is the chalk at +480, more than one-third the price of second-favorite Rory McIlroy at 15/1.

2026 FedEx St. Jude Championship picks

Top of the board: Matt Fitzpatrick (27/1, FanDuel)

Last seen missing the cut at the Open Championship, bettors are seemingly abandoning ship on Matt Fitzpatrick this week. Fine by me.

If you draw a line through the Open, which is an outlier event in the grand scheme of a PGA Tour season, you’ll see nothing but success for the Sheffield native in 2026. Fitzpatrick won three PGA Tour tournaments (one of which was a team event), racked up seven top-5 finishes (including two runners-up), and was 25th or better in 13 of his 18 starts.

Before his MC at Royal Birkdale, Fitzpatrick had finished T3 at the Scottish Open, fourth at the Travelers, 22nd at the U.S. Open, and second at the Canadian Open.

Fitzpatrick also seems to enjoy the conditions of TPC Southwind, as he’s got three top-10 finishes in seven starts in Memphis.

Sleeper: Tom Kim (52/1, DraftKings)

Tom Kim’s stock has risen steadily down the stretch of the 2026 campaign.

Not only did he snag a win at the Scottish Open, but he’s got three top-5 finishes in his most recent six starts, including at last week’s Wyndham Championship.

Despite his hot form, bookmakers continue to deal tempting prices on Kim. Not that we’re complaining.

Long shot: Sungjae Im (95/1, DraftKings)

It’s been a frustrating campaign for Sungjae Im and his backers. The South Korean has flirted with his third career win (and first since 2021) on a number of occasions, but he just hasn’t been able to get over the hump.

Recent results have been quite encouraging, though, as Im has posted three top-15 finishes in his last four outings, including a T14 at the Wyndham.

Throw in some strong course history — Im finished sixth here in 2023 and has three top-20s in his last three visits — and a great number, and there’s enough to get in on Im.
