Thunderous applause rings out as Todd Blanche arrives at DOJ

Newly sworn-in U.S. Attorney General Todd Blanche arrived at the Department of Justice on Monday, August 10, to applause from staff gathered along the hallways. Blanche, a former personal attorney to President Donald Trump and former deputy attorney general, was confirmed Saturday in a 50-49 Senate vote after a contentious nomination process. Republican Senators Susan Collins and Lisa Murkowski voted against him, while Senator Bill Cassidy provided the decisive vote.
