WASHINGTON — Vandals struck the World War II Memorial on Thursday — dumping bubble soap into a fountain and scrawling a bizarre protest message.

“Clean Hands Dirty $” a red-painted message read — without making it clear why the site commemorating a conflict that ended 81 years ago was targeted.

Frothy bubbles stood several feet tall from a fountain commemorating the war’s Atlantic Theater, in which the Allies crushed Nazi Germany.

Interior Department spokesman Cody Sargent condemned the “disgusting vandalism from deranged losers.”

“It’s pathetic to deface a memorial to our WWII heroes,” Sargent wrote on X.

“Thankfully, I know our incredible [National Park Service] will get this cleaned up for the majority of Americans who love our country.”

The incident followed alleged vandalism to the new swimming pool liner coating the nearby Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool.

In June, vandals also used chemicals to burn onto the Washington Monument’s lawn “86 47” in a jab at President Trump.
