A pro golfer died at 18 this week after suffering a brain hemorrhage during a tournament.
While playing in the KLPGA Tour’s International Qualifying Tournament in Thailand on Aug. 1, Jessica Bang collapsed and underwent emergency brain surgery at Synphaet Ramintra Hospital in Bangkok, Thailand.
Her family announced in a GoFundMe, however, that she died on Aug. 13 at 7:20 am local time in the hospital.

“We are truly heartbroken by this news. However, we would like to continue to remember Jessica and celebrate her achievements, passion, and dedication to golf,” the GoFundMe, run by her cousins, said.
“As her cousins, we will forever cherish the time and memories we shared with Jessica. Her sense of humour, together with her cheerful and vibrant personality, will always be remembered and treasured by our family.”
The GoFundMe said the funds will be used for her medical expenses.

Bang, born in South Korea, was placed on life support after the surgery.

Bang won in her fifth professional start this past November, carding a final-round 65 at the 2026 Ford Women’s NSW Open Regional Qualifying Event at Moss Vale to win by five strokes and set a course record. She also won the Queensland Amateur.
