Houston high school teacher Darius Williams broke down in tears after he said his 17- and 18-year-old students struggled to complete a basic reading and writing exercise — even after he walked them through the material and provided much of the answer. Williams said the seniors could reason and express themselves verbally but struggled to translate those thoughts into writing.
