INDIANAPOLIS — Nothing about Anneli Maley’s path to the WNBA has followed the typical script.

She went undrafted out of college (she played at Oregon and TCU), and spent the majority of her professional career overseas, including in China and her native Australia.

Prior to this season, the 27-year-old Maley had played in just four WNBA games, back in 2022, when the Sky signed her as a temporary hardship player.

But thanks to the new collective bargaining agreement, Maley is getting a real shot at her ultimate goal of signing a standard WNBA contract.
