The San Francisco 49ers’ final open training camp practice was on Sunday.

The team competed without two key players as guard Dominick Puni and rookie defensive tackle Gracen Halton were unable to participate.

Puni is dealing with a concussion and Halton, who has been a standout in camp thus far, suffered an ankle injury earlier in the week.

Puni has been durable his entire career thus far, playing in all 34 games over two seasons in the NFL. He’s committed only 10 penalties in over 2,000 offensive snaps, making him a key member of the 49ers offensive line as he enters his third-year in the league.

Last season, Puni ranked 25th out of 81 qualified guards with a 70.2 overall PFF grade. He allowed 30 total pressures (including one sack and one hit) to opposing pass rushers last season.

As for Halton, the rookie was drafted by the 49ers in the fourth round of the 2026 NFL Draft. The Oklahoma product made a strong first impression in San Francisco’s preseason opener against the Tennessee Titans.

Halton dominated Titans offensive guard Peter Skoronski, who is the highest-paid player at his position, and bullied him every chance he got. The rookie only played in half of the game.

All-Pro and future Hall of Fame lineman Trent Williams was impressed by Halton’s performance in preseason opener.

“Boomer Sooner, Gracen Halton. You know it. G-Baby, man. Obviously, Oklahoma guy, so I’m a little biased, but I think the world kinda seen what he has to offer — very explosive, short-area quickness, really powerful. Puts you in the mind of D.J. Jones a little bit for what he had when he was here,” Williams said after the game Thursday.
