Almost one year after the shocking assassination of Charlie Kirk, Fox Nation is taking a look back at how the harrowing event impacted a Christian private high school in Louisiana.

Pastor and Evangel Christian Academy head football coach Denny Duron guides his team through Kirk’s killing in Season 3 of the hit reality television series, “God. Family. Football.” 

While dealing with the pressures and challenges of competing during the 2025 season, Duron pays tribute to the killed Turning Point USA leader, as shown in episode two.

“That young man was a young man I admired,” he says in the episode. “I have used football as my platform to be able to speak the name of Jesus to the world, but he used politics.”

During one practice after Kirk’s death, Duron encourages his players not to give in to hate by transforming anger into violence.

“There is a spirit of anger in the world today,” he says. “And there is no reason for you ever to be angry and commit a sin. If Jesus forgave you, for everything that he forgave you for and forgave me for, then you can not hold anything against anybody for any reason. That’s what Christianity is all about.”

Duron then holds a moment of silence for Kirk and asks the team to “pray for peace on Earth.”

The tribute to Kirk continues off the field in the academy’s classrooms. Offensive coordinator Kramer Hagan, also a civics teacher at the school, holds an open discussion with his students about the conservative leader’s killing. 

“I’m excited just to hear their thoughts and see how this younger generation is reacting,” he says. 

“You cannot allow yourself to be dehumanizing towards other people’s beliefs,” Hagan adds. “Jesus doesn’t teach us to be that way. He wants you to fight and argue and defend your beliefs, but you can never lose your humanity in the process.”
