Najee Harris visiting Giants after running back depth takes injury hit
The Giants are going to get an up-close look at a former Pro Bowl running back.
Najee Harris is visiting the team on Monday, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
The 28-year-old, who was with the Chargers last season, suffered a season-ending Achilles tear in Week 3 and was limited to 15 carries for 61 yards in two-plus games.
The Giants’ running back depth took a hit during Saturday’s preseason loss to the Vikings as Dante “Turbo” Miller left with an injury.
A 2021 first-round pick by the Steelers, he earned Pro Bowl honors as a rookie when he rushed for 1,200 yards and seven touchdowns.
He rushed for more than 1,000 yards in each of his four seasons in Pittsburgh, racking up 28 rushing touchdowns and six receiving touchdowns during that stretch.
The Giants have Cam Skattebo, Tyrone Tracy, Devin Singletary and Eric Gray among their group of running backs.
