Popular frozen fruit bars on recall over glass contamination fears — find out which varieties were affected
Dreyer’s Grand Ice Cream has issued a voluntary recall of several flavors of its Outshine Fruit Bars on Saturday after discovering they could contain glass.
According to a press release, five varieties of the 6ct 2.5-ounce paddle bars were affected: Outshine Strawberry, Watermelon, Grape, Tangerine and Black Cherry.
These sweet treats were reportedly distributed to retailers nationwide in 6-count boxes.
To determine if one’s popsicle is subject to the recall, customers should check the UPC and batch codes on the bottom of the package.
Affected Strawberry bars bear a UPC of 041548610047 and best-by dates of Sept. 30, Oct. 31, or Nov. 30, 2027; Watermelon bars carry UPC 041548413624 with best-by dates of June 30 or July 31, 2027; Tangerine bars are stamped with UPC 041548612041 and have a best-by date of Oct. 31, 2027.
There are also two potentially tainted Grape flavors: One with UPC 041548244044 and best-by dates of Sept. 30 or Oct. 31, 2027, and another that has a UPC of 041548000121 and an best-by date of July 31, 2027.

If found, these products should be discarded or returned to the “place of purchase” for a complete refund, per the release.
So far, no injuries and illness have been reported, according to the ice cream giant, which urged anyone who believes they’ve been harmed to seek guidance from a medical professional immediately.
