If you’re a queer woman who feels sexually awakened and ready to embrace your kinky desires after watching Gillian Anderson help Hannah Einbinder climax on the big screen, then you’ve come to the right place. While you can’t watch Teenage Sex and Death at Camp Miasma at home just yet—though we do expect to see it streaming on Mubi before the end of the year—there are plenty of other steaming lesbian sex scenes in movies that are streaming. Like, for example, the new adorable lesbian teen romance, Girls Like Girls, which recently began streaming on Peacock.

  1. Honey Don't sex scene
    Photo: Focus Features

Following the delightful Drive Away Dolls, this second entry in what director Ethan Coen and co-writer Tricia Cooke are calling their “lesbian B-movie trilogy” stars Margaret Qualley stars as a private detective named Honey O’Donahue, working to solve a murder case that involves a religious cult. Also on the case is MG Falcone (Aubrey Plaza), a police officer who feels a spark with Honey. The movie didn’t make much sense, but at least we get a few super hot, super spicy sex scenes where Qualley and Plaza hook up. That includes a scene where Plaza fingers Qualley in broad daylight in the middle of a crowded bar, while maintaining a conversation about their hobbies. Surely, that’s a health code violation.

  2. Girls Like Girls kiss scene
    Photo: Peacock

While not technically a sex scene, I think it’s safe to say that the heated kiss between leads Maya de Costa and Myra Molloy in Girls Like Girls—the new lesbian coming of age romance from writer/director Hayley Kiyoko, based on her 2015 music video—is more than just a kiss scene. This is a full-blown make-out session. It’s passionate, frantic, sexy, and oh-so romantic. Coley and Sonya just can’t get enough of each other, to the point where Coley fully climbs on top of Sonya right there in the grass. What happens is, frustratingly, left up to the viewer to decide. The scene cuts short, and in the next shot, we see Coley and Sonya have fallen asleep in each other’s arms. Did they do more than just kiss on that grassy hill? Maybe! It’s up to the fanfiction writers to decide, now.

  3. Jagged Mind sex scene

Did you know there’s a queer time loop horror flick, Jagged Mind, streaming on Hulu free to subscribers right this very second? Now you do! The movie, directed by Kelley Kali and written by Allyson Morgan, stars Maisie Richardson-Sellers as an art curator struggling with intense nightmares and memory loss. It probably has nothing to do with the beautiful but scary woman (Shannon Woodard) she picked up at a bar who’s trapped her in a time loop, right? At least our hero gets one night of pleasure with her beautiful demon, even if it’s short-lived. Look at those lesbians go!

  4. Shirley

The sex scenes in the Shirley Jackson biopic Shirley—and there are several—are particularly excellent because they were filmed by a woman (director Josephine Decker) and written by a woman (writer Sarah Gubbins). They revolve entirely around female desire, namely that of Odessa Young’s character, who has a complicated relationship with the famed horror writer. The scenes are hot without being exploitative—in one memorable moment, nothing more than a game of footsie transpires.

  5. The lesbian sex scene in Booksmart
    Photo: Annapurna Pictures

Olivia Wilde is so back with her film The Invite, but let’s not forget that she gifted us a very sweet, very awkward “first time” lesbian sex scene in her 2019 comedy masterpiece, Booksmart. Kaitlyn Dever’s character, Amy, has just been crushed by seeing her own crush kissing a dude. She finds in the bathroom with her classmate Hope (Diana Silvers), where an argument breaks out into sexy times. Hope gets below the belt, and below the underwear… until things are cut short by Amy vomiting. But until then, it’s very hot and sweet!

  6. Alia Shawkat and Laia Costa kiss in Duck Butter
    Photo: Netflix

The premise of this queer coming-of-age movie is that Alia Shawkat and Laia Costa will have sex every hour for a day. So, needless to say, there are quite a few steamy sex scenes to pick from. But one particularly sexy scene features Costa and Shawkat, sans clothes, plastered up against each other, almost as if they are attempting to fuse into one. They just can’t seem to get close enough. Now that’s what I call intimacy!

  7. Two women 69 in 'Blue is the Warmest Color'
    Blue Is the Warmest Color
French film Blue Is the Warmest Color goes way beyond oral sex to give fans the full 69 experience. When Emma (Léa Seydoux) and Adele (Adèle Exarchopoulos) hook up for the first time, they explore every inch of each other’s bodies… literally. The raw, emotional scene will be remembered as one of the most risqué in history, and it’s not hard to see why.

This French queer romance features some pretty steamy moments between leads Léa Seydoux and Adèle Exarchopoulos, who meet as teenagers and maintain a secret sexual relationship into adulthood, exploring each others bodies in increasingly bold ways. And yes, that includes this scene where they try out 69-ing. Much like the new HBO series Heated Rivalry, what makes these sex scenes hit is the forbidden yearning between two people who feel they can never be together.
