What Giants, Jets still have to figure out: OBJ conundrum, Tyrone Tracy’s future, Cade Klubnik’s shift

What used to be known as “The Snoopy Bowl” stopped being called that around the time both teams became the dogs of the NFL.

But Giants-Jets week arrives this year with some renewed optimism.

Not just because both teams won their Week 2 preseason games — who cares about the score? — but because the Giants dominated the hapless Dolphins from a joint practice through a game in which their offense ran 79 plays to the Dolphins’ 36, while the Jets’ starting offense cruised to a touchdown in a 17-0 shutout of the Steelers.

Vibes are higher than normal — no longer basement level for the two teams with the worst records in the NFL since 2017, that is — headed toward Friday’s Giants at Jets preseason finale (7:30 p.m. MetLife Stadium) and Sunday’s cuts.
