‘Motor City’ Comes to Digital, But Where Will Alan Ritchson’s ‘Motor City’ Movie Be Streaming for Free?

Finished watching Reacher Season 4 and craving a little more Alan Ritchson action? Then you should check out his new 2026 action flick, Motor City, which is coming to digital platforms to buy and rent starting tomorrow.

Directed by Potsy Ponciroli, who’s 2021 feature debut has recently been trending on Netflix, the Motor City script was penned by Chad St. John, and has been passed around town since it ended up the 2009 Black List of best un-produced scripts. After nearly two decades of development hell—during which actors Chris Evans, Dominic Cooper, Jake Gyllenhaal, and Gerard Butlers were all in talks for the lead—this crime thriller is finally coming to the big screen.

Ritchson stars as John Miller, an ex-convict who seeks revenge on the mobster who framed him for a crime and stole his girlfriend back in 1970s Detroit. In addition to Ritchson in the lead role, the Motor City cast includes Ben Foster, Pablo Schreiber, Lionel Boyce and Shailene Woodley. According to Foster, Motor City has very little dialogue, and mostly relies on action and the soundtrack. We know you can’t wait to watch Ritchson beat up the bad guys, so read on to find out where to watch the Motor City movie on streaming and when we expect Motor City streaming on AMC+.

How to watch Alan Ritchson’s movie Motor City on streaming:

Motor City is not currently streaming free on any of the subscription-based streaming services. However, if you don’t want to pay to buy or rent the movie, we do expect to see Motor City streaming on AMC+ eventually, thanks to a output deal between the Independent Film Company and AMC+.

AMC+ costs $9/month. Find out more here.

When will Motor City movie be streaming free on AMC+?

We don’t yet know when Motor City will be streaming on AMC+, but we can guess it will be around late October 2026, based on previous Independent Film Company releases.

One recent IFC movie, Over Your Dead Body, began streaming on AMC+ about three months after it opened in theaters. If Motor City follows this same release pattern, you can expect Motor City to stream on Netflix around late October 2026, aka three months after the movie opened in theaters.

This is all speculation. We don’t yet have the Motor City AMC+ release date. If you don’t want to wait, you can go ahead and buy or rent Motor City online.
