If you didn’t get a chance to see this Tony-winning musical in theaters or on a Broadway stage, you won’t have to waaaaaaaaaaaiiiiiitt to watch it any longer.

This critically-acclaimed Broadway musical is a retelling of two ancient Greek myths: Orpheus and Eurydice, and Hades and Persephone. The musical was composed and written by Anaïs Mitchell, and directed by Rachel Chavkin. It first debuted off-Broadway at the New York Theater Workshop in 2016, and premiered on Broadway in 2019, where it was met with critical acclaim, including 14 Tony nominations and eight Tony wins, including Best Musical.

In 2025, a pro-shot of the stage musical was filmed over the course of three live productions at the Lyric Theatre in London, featuring five the original Broadway cast members, including Reeve Carney as Orpheus, André De Shields as Hermes, Amber Gray as Persephone, Eva Noblezada as Eurydice, and Patrick Page as Hades. The musical was a huge hit and is still on Broadway to this day. But not everyone can afford a Broadway ticket. Thankfully, soon the musical will be accessible to anyone with internet access. Read on to find out when and where you can watch the Hadestown: The Musical movie on streaming.

Where will Hadestown: The Musical movie be streaming for free on Netflix, Hulu, or Disney Plus?

We don’t know if, or where, the Hadestown: The Musical movie will be streaming on a subscription-based streaming service. The film is being distributed in the U.S. by Crosswalk, a branch of Bleecker Street that specializes in concert films and filmed stage productions.

A previous Crosswalk title, Stray Kids: The dominATE Experience, a concert film, began streaming on Hulu and Disney+ in May, about three months after it opened in theaters. While we have no guarantee that Hadestown will follow the same release pattern, it’s possible that Hadestown will also be on Hulu and Disney+ about three months after opening in theaters, which would be around late October 2026, presumably after the movie hits DVD on October 20.

If you’re new to Hulu, the basic (with ads) price is $11.99/month. If you want to upgrade to Hulu ad-free, it costs $18.99/month.

If you want to stream even more and save a few bucks a month while you’re at it, we recommend subscribing to one of the Disney+ Bundles, all of which include Hulu. These bundles start at $12.99/month for ad-supported Disney+ and Hulu and goes up to $32.99/month for Disney+, Hulu, and Max, all ad-free.

But this is all speculation. Crosswalk does not have an official output deal with any of the streamers, so we don’t know where Hadestown will be streaming, or indeed, if it will ever be streaming on a subscription-based streaming service. If you want to watch Hadestown: The Musical at home, you can buy or rent the film starting tomorrow.
