Kim Kardashian’s a momager and friend to North West instead of what she needs — a mother

Kim Kardashian doesn’t want to be a responsible mom. Like her own mother, she wants to be the manager of a provocative child.

Why else would she allow daughter North West to be on the cover of Dazed magazine showing off a slew of piercings, her blue hair and colorful grills.

She is just barely 13.

“Everyone’s in love with boys, vaping and doing all kinds of bad stuff,” North told the magazine.

It’s rather telling that she thinks her peers should be into anything other than being goofy adolescents feeling their way through this world. Never mind, “bad stuff.” It reveals a lot about the fast environment in which she is being raised.

Her vices are pretty simple: “All I want is blue hair and piercings.”

And since she’s been endlessly indulged by her mother, she has them both.

Not all the piercings are real, but earlier in the year she debuted a bunch of them on her hands, of all places. Even if the ones on her face are fake, it’s still a bizarre thing to allow your kid.

Body modification, including hand piercings which can lead to scarring and disfigurement, is not for growing children trying on personalities.

Her newest persona is musician. She has released her first solo single and when asked what the worst piece of advice she’s even been given in her long 13 years on this earth, she offered this.

“To start my career later. It’s like, nah, this is my hobby, this is what I like to do, this is what I wanna do with my life,” she said.

Funny. Two years ago in an interview with I-D magazine, she proclaimed that she wanted to be a basketball player. In that same piece she described herself as “the best ever” and obnoxiously said she was her own style icon.

The same year she was on the cover of Interview magazine being interviewed by her mother, who marveled over her young daughter’s answers like they were great profundities.

Not the musings of a precocious pip squeak being raised to believe her own greatness.

“I always wanted to pause time,” she said when asked about a super power she’d like to have. “When I was in class one day last year, I was like, “I want to pause time and get all my work done, and then run out of class and go to Starbucks, and then go around to Japan and then go everywhere!”

Are we sensing a pattern here?

North is a child.

And like her mother, she really seems to have no discernible talent.

But she has famous parents and access to whatever wacky or high-end clothing her heart desires.

It’s obvious that North has never heard the word no.

Not from any authority in her life, including her mother, who clearly wants to be her best friend instead of the adult setting necessary boundaries and raising a healthy child.

Kardashian has always toted her first born around like her very own mini me accessory — an extension of the now defunct brand Kimye. She’s brought her along to nearly every fashion week dressed in designer duds, and does social media livestreams and videos with her.

And she uses her daughter’s attention seeking style for fodder in her own interviews.

It’s a never-ending cycle of narcissism.

Also showering North with media attention for no reason other than to validate the family’s identity will only screw with her sense of self as she gets older and less interesting to the general public.

In 2024, North West was photographed for a cover of Interview magazine and interviewed by her mother Kim Kardashian.

She’ll always be chasing that high of being photographed for magazines, fussed over and told how wonderful she is. This will only end in tears — and more piercings.

Like any growing young teen, North should have the freedom to try out different identities and hobbies. But all of that self-exploration should be done away from the camera and the spotlight.

Her childhood should not be for public consumption. But the shameless Kardashians know no other way.
