Wyndham Clark reveals plan to propose to girlfriend after 7 months together
Fresh off winning the BMW Championship this past weekend, Wyndham Clark did not mince words regarding his relationship intentions with his girlfriend, Emily Tanner.
Clark was speaking to the media Tuesday when he was asked about his plans for the upcoming offseason.
“I’m going to be in Cabo next week. That’s my happy place. So I’ll be down there having fun. Presidents Cup; I’m playing a tournament in Japan; hopefully get engaged and then going to South Africa for a tournament as well,” Clark responded.
When asked to elaborate on what he meant by “hopefully,” Clark replied with, “Hopefully she says yes.”
What’s perhaps most wild is that Clark and Tanner have only been together for seven months. While they hard launched their relationship on Instagram after being seen together at The Masters, Tanner admitted in a Q&A in July that she and Clark, “met end of January and fell pretty fast.”
The relationship has also been moving fast: Last week, Tanner announced she was moving out of California to be with him in Scottsdale, Ariz.
Clark spoke about how confident having Tanner by his side makes him over the weekend, and this has been a running theme throughout his success on the course. Clark has won three PGA Tour tournaments this season, including the US Open.
It will be fascinating to see how Tanner might respond to her boyfriend saying this publicly. If and when he does propose this offseason, it’s safe to say that Tanner won’t be surprised.
