FX‘s steamy summer thriller The Shards is about to tackle one of the most intense chapters in any adolescent’s life: Homecoming.

Yes, it’s not enough that Bret (Igby Rigney) and his pals Susan (Kaia Gerber), Thom (Graham Campbell), and Debbie (Hayes Warner) are being hunted by a mysterious serial killer — or that Bret’s convinced the Trawler is hidden among them, in the guise of cool new kid Robert Mallory (Homer Gere). These teenagers have to survive the bitter battle to crown Homecoming King and Queen in style.

Last week’s episode of The Shards ended with two shocking twists. First, Debbie discovered long-time “Groover of the Week” Cha Cha Rodriguez (Bella Valdes) murdered in a ladies’ restroom. Then, Really Rhonda (Ivy Wolk) miraculously showed up, covered in blood, skating onto the Hollywood lot where everyone was conveniently assembled for a live taping of Dance Off.
