As a verdict looms in the shocking Lindsay Clancy murder trial, Hollywood studios and streamers are among those glued to the case, and we hear that execs have been deeply obsessed.

Sources tell Page Six Hollywood that numerous studios and streamers are interested in bringing Clancy’s story and trial to the screen. While no deals have been made, the grim case has dominated discussions in the hallways, conference rooms and elevators of studios, agencies, networks and production companies around town, we hear.

“Everyone, and I mean everyone, is talking about it,” said one Hollywood veteran. 

A Massachusetts jury continues deliberations today to decide the fate of the 36-year-old Clancy, who’s accused of strangling her three young kids before trying to take her own life and jumping from a window, leaving her paralyzed. Clancy’s defense team says the accused killer should not be found criminally guilty for the gruesome deaths, because she was in the throes of severe postpartum psychosis and that she heard a man’s voice telling her to carry out the brutal killings and attempt suicide.

Adding to the intrigue, the case has divided trial watchers — multiple reports have said there’s a wide swath of women who passionately believe Clancy is innocent. 

In a piece titled, “Everyone Thinks Lindsay Clancy Killed Her Kids. Except Women Online,” The Free Press scribe Suzy Weiss wrote: “The murder trial that’s taking place now is to ascertain whether Clancy should spend the rest of her life in prison, or in a mental institution. But on some deep and feminine corners of the internet, there is a chorus growing who believe that Clancy is innocent, and allege that her husband, Patrick, is the one who committed the unspeakable crime.” Additionally, “then there is a wider, concentric circle of women who believe that Clancy did the murders, but want to stand in solidarity with her.”

(There’s no evidence that Patrick was involved, and Clancy does not deny killing her kids. A Post opinion piece recently said of Clancy’s supporters: “The women standing outside the courthouse have inexplicably assigned Patrick as the villain of the story,” calling the scene outside the court, “a mass psychosis event.”)

We hear that the case has been particularly hotly debated among female execs in Hollywood, splitting Gen Z staffers, Millennials and Gen Xers in their opinions over Clancy’s guilt.

Such intrigue has only fueled the concept that the case could be a blockbuster entertainment project.

“People are chasing it,” said a source, adding that networks and streamers alike could be in the hunt, and top documentarians’ names are being bandied about.

There was even a rumor going around that Netflix had a staffer in the courtroom, which we hear is not true.

But, “It’s very much in their wheelhouse,” said a source familiar with the streamer, adding there would be no surprise if Netflix “and every other streamer” would be eyeing the case as a possible project.

One entertainment exec says that no one will make a move on the project till they know how the story ends. Stay tuned… And start casting.
