Former President Joe Biden’s son, Hunter Biden, said on Sunday that former Vice President Kamala Harris was getting bad political advice, after he refused to explain why he thinks she wasn’t a good politician.

Zeteo founder and former MSNBC host Mehdi Hasan pressed Biden on why he said that Harris was “not a very good politician,” despite her repeatedly refusing to break from Joe Biden on key issues while campaigning in 2024.

“Here’s what I’d also like to say about the vice president. I think that the vice president served the country incredibly well and that she has a deep, rich future in politics. Whether she wants to run for president again, she’ll be one of the, if not, the frontrunner,” he said.

Hasan pressed, “But she’s not a very good politician?”

“No, and I think that the way that she’s going about it right now is, at least from my perspective—” Biden began, as Hasan pressed him to elaborate.

HUNTER BIDEN REVEALS HE NEVER WANTED JOE BIDEN TO RUN FOR RE-ELECTION, BUT REFUSED TO TELL HIM TO STOP

Biden said, “I think that this administration, unlike you, I don’t think that she should have ever been any daylight between, she can make daylight between herself and my dad, but not in terms of what they were able to accomplish over that four-year period. I think that there might be daylight as issues related to Gaza and as it relates to Israel that of course, she needs to be able to stake her own ground on that.”

The Zeteo founder noted that Harris didn’t really break from Biden on Gaza or Israel.

Biden insisted Harris’ refusal to break with his father on the issue didn’t have anything to do with his father.

“He didn’t pressure her? No daylight, kid?” Hasan asked.

A post-2024 election book by reporters Jonathan Allen and Amie Parnes said Joe Biden had told Harris repeatedly that there could be “no daylight” between them and reported that he told her, “No daylight, kid,” during a call ahead of her debate with Donald Trump.

KAMALA HARRIS LEAVES BIDEN OFF LIST OF TOP THREE ‘MOST EFFECTIVE’ PRESIDENTS

The former president denied doing this during an interview on “The View.”

“Nothing to do with loyalty to my dad, from my perspective. But here’s the thing, is this, is that, you know what? She’s a free agent now. I’m Hunter Biden,” he said. “I get to think whatever the hell that I want to think about anybody.”

Hasan pressed him again, questioning, “I’m asking why do you think she’s not a very good politician?”

“That’s between me and her,” Hunter Biden told Hasan.

Hasan responded and said, “You can’t just dangle that out.”

HUNTER BIDEN REVEALS HE’S ‘DEFINITELY NOT RUNNING’ FOR OFFICE DESPITE MEDIA TOUR

“You know why I can? Because I ain’t running for anything, Mehdi, I can say whatever the f— I want,” Biden shot back.

Hunter Biden said he did not agree with the perspective that Harris was loyal to his father throughout her campaign.

“I think that she was loyal to my father and I don’t think she was loyal to a fault, however. There are certain things she was not loyal on. I think right now her recent appearances that I’ve seen and what she’s trying to distance herself from my dad, the things that she wrote in her book, that we’re not loyal in any way. And so there is not like this 100%,” he said.

Later in the interview, during a discussion about a possible 2028 ticket, Biden said he would love for Harris to be President of the United States.

“I would love for her to be President of the United States. I think she would make a great President of the United States. I just think that right now, she’s getting bad political advice. That’s it,” he said.

Harris’ office did not immediately respond to Fox News Digital’s request for comment.

Author and psychotherapist Jonathan Alpert told Fox News Digital, “Harris’s problem was psychological as much as political: voters wanted change, and she couldn’t bring herself to say what she would change. That was the trap.”

He continued, “She was so careful about showing loyalty to Biden that she never established a strong identity of her own. When she was asked what she would have done differently, she struggled to give voters a clear answer. Voters cast their vote on leadership, confidence and authenticity. If the country is unhappy with the person in charge, you can’t run as the change candidate while essentially saying, ‘I wouldn’t have changed much.'”
