I am a reporter for The New York Times’s Metro desk who has been covering how Israel’s war in Gaza is affecting New Yorkers. I am interested in how Jewish New Yorkers think about Israel and the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, and how debates about the conflict in the Middle East have affected them over the past several years.

Many New Yorkers have been deeply troubled by the wars in Gaza and elsewhere in the Middle East, as well as by rising antisemitism at home. I want to hear from Jewish New Yorkers about whether their feelings and opinions have changed in the time since the Oct. 7, 2023, attacks and the start of the Gaza war — and, if so, what has prompted those changes. I’m also interested in how the conflict and related debates have shaped Jewish New Yorkers’ political identities.
